Mallory Lizana, originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, grew up in a small Mississippi town. Her journey in criminal law began in 2018 at a small defense firm, and she shortly thereafter received her Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from The University of Southern Mississippi in 2019. During her time at USM, she traveled to Italy and worked with individuals seeking asylum in the European Union from Africa. Later she spent time in Ireland where she studied their criminal justice system and learned about the impact that the conflict, “The Troubles," had on it. These experiences fueled her passion for criminal defense in the United States.
Mallory's academic journey continued at Florida State University College of Law, where she earned her Juris Doctorate in 2021. While there she earned awards for public service and performing criminal defense pro bono work. She has numerous certifications in Florida legal research areas and has published articles in the Florida Bar Journal, the Florida Specifier, and the Animal Law Section of the Florida Bar’s Newsletter.
Post-graduation, Mallory continued her criminal defense experience at the Ninth Judicial Circuit Office of the Public Defender where she assisted with hundreds of criminal cases. Using this valuable experience, Mallory continued to Longwell Lawyers. She is a dedicated criminal defense attorney and is committed to providing effective and clear communication with clients. Mallory handles a range of criminal cases from minor offenses such as criminal traffic charges, including DUIs, to more severe charges. She goes above and beyond for her clients, and meticulously assesses every case.
She is an active member of the Central Florida Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys, Orange County Bar Association, Animal Law Section, and Young Lawyers Section of the Florida Bar. Most recently she received recognition as a distinguished top 36 under 36 professional lawyer by the Young Lawyer’s Section of the Florida Bar. Apart from her legal pursuits, Mallory enjoys volunteering with McCormick Research Institute.
